Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyones been to any of the Sands meetings in Belfast before. Im thinking of going this wednesday and would like abit of an insight into it before hand.

We dont all sit in a circle like an AA meeting do we?? Im abit worried that i might be put on the spot and feel awkward.

Hugs

Nat

Nat the Belfast Sands Group is lovely. The couple that run it will make you feel very comfortable. Its really informal and you can talk as much or as little as you are comfortable with. No one will make you say a single word unless you want to.

The group can range from being a really big one to only a few people depending on the night. Claire from here goes quite a lot and I am hoping to go this Wednesday.

I would encourage anyone to go as the Belfast group is such a good one.

Take care

I go to the sands meetings quite regularly, will hopefully be there on Wednesday.
The sands meetings are really informal and there's never any pressure on you to talk if you don't want to. I was really nervous the first time I went, almost bottled it at the door but everyone was really welcoming.
Hopefully see you there xox

i used to go to the sands meeting in portadown when steven and jackie ran it. i havent been in years but was thinking of going back as i really need to do something. i always found it a great comfort and as the girls say you dont have to speak if you dont want to. you should give it a try and if its not for you then no harm done  kis
