Another poem I wrote for Brett xxx

[Bretts mummy Emma]

This one is another poem I wrote about a month or so after Brett grew his wings

God took you away my number one
There has to be a reason  you’ve gone
In my heart of hearts I know you’re near
A special place in my life you’ll always be dear
I’ll never forget my little boy
You were my little pride and joy
I loved you as only a mother would
I’m dreaming of you in my arms, if only I could
You were my life, you were my soul
In your place there’s a gaping hole
Oh, Brett I really loved you so
If only you knew that would you still go?
I pray each night that you’re not alone
That you are safe, not on your own
Then I tell myself I am so wrong
I know for myself I have to be strong
For Conor and Joel who don’t understand
Why you have gone to that heavenly land
You knew you were loved so very much
And I would do anything to feel your touch
Just one last time-say a proper goodbye
Then I’ll let you alone back to Jesus in the sky
