Hi everyone
I have not been on here for a while and not sure if any of you remember be so to break the ice again i will tell my story

I have lost 8 pregnancys i have no children with my pregnancys there is no heart beat at 8wks and 10wks
my first pregnancy i was told baby died at 10wks at 12 wks scan no heart beat no reason why unexplained
my second pregnancy ended at 8wks heart beat seen at 6wks and 7wks , No h/b at 8wk 1day scan fetal size 8wks gest
my other four pregnancys ended the same as second pregnancy no heart beat at 8wks

Me and hubby was ttc for 12 mths and nothing was happing so i had tubes checked and i was ovulating normal
dh done swimmer sample and was down to male factor problems so we was put forward to have icsi

I was waiting to start icsi in jan and no signs of af 5 days late i never dreamt of doing a pg test and i had one spare at home
so i done it and it was bfp i couldnt belive we got a bfp naturally after being told we needed icsi
lucky really our miracle ..

I cancel the icsi and went for early scan at 5wks to see what was going on cause i had been having really bad pains
they said there was three sac and to come back cause there was nothing but the sacs seen
so i went back at 6wks and there was two sacs and two babys with heart beats and third scan vanished

We could not belive what we had seen twins naturally and only had sex that mth onec we felt like this was sent for a reason
we was gonna have our baby at last and we was sent two because of my other losses

I went back for another scan at 7wks and they told me baby B had stopped growing no heartbeat but baby A had strong heart beat and still onboard we was sad of losing baby B but really happy baby A was alive

We went back the following week at 8wks 1day and was told baby was fine heart beat seen that was the first time in ages since my first pregnancy that we had seen a heart beat at 8wks i was told i had graduated from miscarraige clinic

i was brought back at 10wks scan to be told my baby had died at 8wks 1 day same day i was told all was fine or baby could of died the next day but going by fetal size baby was 8wks 1 day measurement my dream was shattered i felt crushed and wanted to curl up in ball and scream the hospital down ...

I am waiting to start icsi on the 10th november and waiitng for blood results hoping they can find somthing and put a stop to why i lose my babys i get thesa results 4th november praying hard i get my miracle and my babys are watching over me and helping me to have there little brother or sister

My twins were girls and were fracternal cycto genetics and gene test confirmed this ..
Look foward to getting to know you all and i am so very sorry on your losses your angels watch over you every day

I find myself gasping for breath reading your story it's so sad, and my fingers are really tightly crossed for you for tomorrow's results.

There is a reason you are suffering so many losses, and I just pray to God that not only can the clinic identify what it is but that they are as up to date as possible with what to give you should treatment succeed. Has anybody at any stage suggested referring you to St Mary's Miscarriage Clinic at Paddington Hospital? It is the biggest misc research unit in Europe, not just this country, and you would certainly qualify to be sent there. One of the reasons I ask this is that a TV programme about it I watched some time back has always stayed in my mind. One of the ladies they featured was young and had suffered lots of miscs, and after she got pregnant they put her on a lot of drugs and watched her vey carefully. The drugs included steriods and a few weeks back I read a report on a long study that showed steroids had helped women who had suffered recurrent miscarriages. (I'm starting fertility treatment again soon, and was interested to be told that the clinic I use has also gone over to giving steroids to improve the chances of it working.) Anyway, she carried to term, and it has always stuck in my mind that women who repeatedly lose pregnancies early on can be referred to dedicated clinic.

I think this page from one of the St Mary's websites You are not allowed to view links.
Register or Login will be interesting to you, and I do urge you to Google  miscarriage and steriods. The more you read, the better positioned you are to ask questions of the clinic.

Wishing you all the best,
Gilly

  Gill

Thats the hospital i went to i asked my doctor to send me to st marys after my alst loss in march because my gyno at my local hospital said he cant find nothing after 12 yrs of testing me after all my losses and said he cant do anything elsa for me ..
He even said he thinks its in my mind and when i told him i was asking for a second opinon at st marys to see lesely regan he sais what can she do that i cant ..

I went a head and got to see her in september i had blood take and went back on the 4th november and was told after all them years that i have 2 blood clotting disorders 1 being called lupas .. She is going to start me on treatment when i am next pg but has not said what she is going to start me on yet ..

I cant belive my local hospital has never found anything wrong and when i told her that she said well you ahve in my lab it was so funny the way she said it Lol

I am just so happy and hope now this treatment i get given works for me ..
I start the icsi treatment on monday and was speaking to a lady who said she was given
asprin and a steriod called dexamethason which she was given with her icsi and she got a bfp but sadley went on to lose her pregnancy ..

I remember suggesting taking asprin when i had the icsi that failed in june and the nurse said she would not allow me to take it .. So i gave them a call today and asked if i could see the doctor on monday but he is away on holiday just my luck ..

I will tell the nurse on monday about it though incase she can see another doctor and ask his advice as i am sure i would need somthing especially now i have found out i have 2 clotting disorders this could be the reason why my last cycle never implanted ..

Hi Karen,

Reading your post makes me want to weep, it really does. That you've been trying for 12 long years, lost so many babies, and then a gynae tells you it's in your mind!  It is frightening, really frightening that somebody has the attitude "what can they do we can't?" when the body you want referring to is the country's only specialist recurrent miscarriage clinic. (I do think I'm correct in saying that. It's certainly the biggest.)

Sadly, Prof Regan can't say much because she's run off her feet and has had to fight to keep her unit open. It's a real bugbear of mine that she was forced to go cap in hand to the public to pay for repairs to her building when money gets sprayed around on so many other projects. (One day I'd like to see the brick I bought so I could have my son's name on it. Look out for it!)

But you're under her care now and fingers crossed that you succeed with treatment. As to aspirin - all I can recommend is that if you want information search on North American sites because they are so much more technical, so much more clued up. I'll pm the URL of a website and forum you might find helpful.

Best wishes,
Gilly
