HELP !!!! Needed (Unsure if its right place feel free to move if not)

SO SORRY IF THIS UPSETS ANYONE BUT I NEED SOME HELP & DONT KNOW WHERE ELSE TO TURN

Hi girls im not sure where this is ment to be but need some help

My brother in laws brother has a 2 yr old son and a 6 month old son and my sister visits now and again and evrytime she comes back and tells me that this man and his g/f are misstreatin there boys she says they both smell and look unclean and the younger baby isnt putting weight on and looks tiny ( i know weights and things in babys differ) she also said that the younger babys chest rattles as they smoke around him (Heavily) i might sound like a hypocrite as i am a smoker and have cut down alot since falling pregnant.
She also said they leave him in a room alone for most the day and dont bother with him & his dad says he hates him and wishes he was never born & if they where round him for a few hours it would put them off ever having kids

She also said to me about a yr ago quite insensitively only a few months after we lost enzo that the dad had said when the eldest was younger " wouldnt it be funny if we went to him one morning and he was dead in his bed" WTF!!!!! funny i felt like goin round and knocking the living daylights out of them they made me so angry

im not sure whether to dig further and try and get some info on where they live etc and contact child protection/social services im torn as i dont think my siister would lie but if i dont do something and something awful happens i would never forgive myself

Your sister needs to act on the info hun she can do this through the local authoirty who will give her advice on reporting her ocncerns it can also be doneso she wont have to disclose her name etc.

At the end of the day if anything happens to the children and she knew things werent great she will only blame herself for not acting on it. The information you have is third hand and you have not witnessed it for yourself were as she has maybe you can support her in seeking out help for these children if what is being reported is true.

if i wass your sister i would keep a record of hw kids are and report her as it sounds clearly like neglect , if anything hppened to them she would blame herself for not acting sooner and another tragedy could of being prevented , you hear of too many now a days and all the should of would of could of's wont bring them back

Ok I'm probably going a little against what has been said in that I dont want to instantly say get them reported.
I think some of the things mentioned (rattly chest) can have 'innocent' explanations like baby just having a cold.
Unclean and small arent always signs of neglect either.

It definitely sounds like something might be wrong BUT I'd be careful and get facts first before reporting anyone. Things do get taken out of context at times and might be picked up on wrongly.

I totally agree that we dont want anything bad happening to these children but you also dont want to report people when there is actually no neglect going on.

Keep in mind that you havent seen any of this first hand and with anything that gets passed on facts arent always too precise.

If its really that bad then it should be reported but if it might be a bit exaggerated in passing info on to others then thread carefully.
