My Little Man Ben 10/05/07-04/06/07

« on: May 20, 2009, 10:37:40 AM »

my 5yr old daughters teacher pulled me up today, apparently she and her best friend have been bullying the new polish little girl. I thought this was strange as my daughters been asking if she can come to tea, and i'd gone out of my way, as a busy mum of 3 under 5, to invite a couple of girls from school around so that she didn't feel intimidated by the language barrier etc. Anyway, i am not opposed to disciplining ANY of my children but i know my daughter hasn't got a malicious bone in her body! So i was shocked and asked -what exactly has she been doing? Wait for it...playing 'catch' too rough and messing about all throwing each others empty lunch bags around on their way back to class. Well i was shocked at the defence i put up!! To me, the dinner ladies should have just put a stop to the games, and yes i'd happily speak to ash about not being too rough but to call a meeting with the parents after school!! My reaction as been to cry all morning. I just want to go get ash from school and cuddle and protect her. How dare they say that my little girls a bully!-see what i mean by how protective i am! Our family doesn't need this at this time of year.

Oh my gosh!

Im not surprised you feel protective. All children play rough and mess around. It certainy doesnt make them bullies.

They were definately overreacting if you ask me. I'm a school bus driver, which aparently you guys don't have. I just drive the kids to and from school, I have seen kids acctually fight on my bus, to where I've had to break it up. You know what happened to them? The school told them to get off at the next stop and walk, they were back the next day. Some kids brought guns to school at the beginning of the year either last year or the year before, and after court trials THEY WERE ALLOWED BACK INTO THAT SAME SCHOOL! My point is, kids do a whole lot worse, so tossing lunch bags around and playing catch is NOT a crime, even if 1 thinks the other is being too rough. Cheer up hun, only you know your child as well as you. People can say what they want but you know the truth as far as the bullying goes.
