A poem I wrote last night

[Bretts mummy Emma]

6 aching years since you closed your eyes
You left me alone with my grief
72 lonely months of wondering why
Though your life was far too brief

312 long empty weeks
Of missing you more and more
2190 days since we said goodbye
My heart is pieces once more

The weeks and days merge into one
Large black cloud of pain
As I relive your short little life
Again and again and again

52560 hours since you took your last breath
And I lost you forever my son
I have the memories that we shared
They are locked in my heart every last one

So until the day that we meet again
Play on in the Heavens above
Come down now and then
To show me your undying love

I love you so much and this love will last
The test of time that I'm sure
Because no-one can take our love away
Unconditional love between mum and child it's a love that is undyingly pure
