A beautiful poem that i had for Ellie Mae as we said goodbye at her funeral on
21st Oct 09.

They say memories are golden, well maybe that is true.
I never wanted memories, i only wanted you.
A million times i needed you, a million times i cried.
If love alone could of saved you, you never would of died.
In life i loved you dearly, in death i love you still.
In my heart you hold a place, no one could ever fill.
If tears could build a stairway, and heartache make a lane.
I'd walk the path to heaven, and bring you back again.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same.
But as god calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

Love you always

I think you'll all agree when i say this poem says it all

My mum she tells a lot of lies, she never did before
But from now until she dies she'll tell a whole lot more.
Ask my mum how she is and because she can't explain
She will tell a little lie because she can't describe the pain.

Ask my mum how she is and she'll say 'I'm alright'
But if thats the truth, then tell me why does she cry each night?
Ask my mum how she is, she seems to cope so well
She didn't have a choice you see, 'nor the strength to yell.

Ask my mum how she is 'I'm fine, I'm well, I'm coping'
For god's sake mum, just tell the truth just say your heart is broken.
She'll love me all her life, i loved her all of mine
But if you ask her how she is. she'll lie and say she's fine.

I am now an angel, i cannot hug from here
If she lies to you don't listen, hug her and hold her near.
On the day we meet again, we'll smile and I'll be bold
I'll say 'you're lucky to get in here mum, with all the lies you told!'.

Sweet dreams my angel

Go ahead and mention my loved one, the one that died, you know.
Don't worry about hurting me further. The depth of my pain doesn't show.

Don't worry about making me cry, I'm already crying inside.
Help me to heal, by releasing the tears, that I try to hide.

I'm hurt when you just keep silent, pretending she didn't exist,
I'd rather you mention my loved one, knowing that she has been missed.

You asked me how I was doing, I say "pretty good" or "fine"
But healing is something ongoing, I feel it will take a lifetime.
