Surviving twin starting school (lc mentioned)

I knew this year was going to be hard. Holly goes to 'look round' school on monday in preparation for starting in september. She's so excited but i'm left wondering how to get through such a big milestone knowing what day i would have been doing what for the preparation of ben starting. I'll even know what day he would have been starting

  kim. dont really know what to say honey. it must be difficult having all these moments that ben should be sharing with holly. you are blessed to have a part of ben with you always but it also breaks your heart to know that he should be side by side with her doing all these things.i have a nephew who was due 2days before caitlin and found it very difficult when he started his 1sts in everything. i cant begin to imagine how you must feel.

It must be so bitter sweet, Suzanne is right. I wish Ben was here doing all his first's with Holly Kim I really do, Im sure Ben is right by Holly's side in everthing she does xxx

i am a real mess, i don't know how i'm going to get through tomorrow, its just so cruel to be going through bens actual milestones without him, so fortunate to have holly and be going through hollys milestones but what about bens? I have to go through bens actual milestones and i'm really not strong enough, can't stop crying and know i will tomorrow

Kim you will get through tomorrow because you're an amazing mum and Holly needs you with her.
i can't even begin to try and understand why life is so cruel and why Ben is not where he should be excited about looking around school tomorrow with his sister.  i can't think about it too much as i get angry.
Ben will be there with you both tomorrow of that i have no doubt at all.
i wish i could take away your pain, i wish i could bring Ben back.
but all i can do is say that my phone will be on all day tomo if you need me.  if you're crying phone and i'll cry with you.

Such a big first to get through, Kim, but get through you will because you have to even though it's so, so hard.

And as for so many other twins, life really does have this habit of twisting the knife it stuck in your back. When my son started pre-school a fews months ago, who were the first 2 children we met? Twin boys born 4 days earlier. (I cheered, honestly I did, when we got a notice recently about next year's class being split into 2 and the twins being in a different class.) We had our first foreign holiday recently staying at the same place as two other families, and of course one of them had twins (mixed this time.) 

I, too, find it very hard to live without my little boy, getting through all these milestones without him, and I hope it's a small comfort that other people know just how you feel.
