A christmas poem I wrote

When Christmas comes it brings with it a lot of festive cheer
But when you are the mummy of an angel who is not here
All Christmas does is remind us of that missing smiling face
The empty stack of presents and the empty dinner place
We try to smile the whole day through to show that we can cope
We make the day seem special a small part losing hope
The future we had was stolen before we could fight
And all that's left is a broken heart and a bright star in the night
But don't lose hope that Christmas will be all doom and gloom
Because our angels will stay close by and will help our day to bloom
They don't want us to be so sad they don't want to see us cry
Because their love didn't leave us, it was the part that didn't die
